if you receive an error use the following command to clean the old value on the local and online server:

Edit /etc/ssh/sshd_config

reload ssh server:

open the remote server and change permition:

# cd /var/tmp/

COPY FILES OVER SERVERS

USING DIFFERENT SSH PORT

There are fraudulent companies and individuals that are implying that they will rank your site on Search Engines but they have no idea how to do it. This guide will help you to identify the scammers and save your money…

You will hear “We can get your page to the highest rankings on search engines”… but before trust on histories and long emails with explanations that your site is bad optimized and how they could improve, there are a few points that can help you to know if they can really do the job:

1 - The SEO company’s email can never be from a free email accounts: yahoo, gmail, btinternet, etc. They must use their company’s email address.
If you received an proposal for optimization from a free email just move it to your SPAM folder…

2 – The company must have a website and their website must have minimum Page Ranking 3 (use google toolbar to check).

3 - Their website must be on top 5 in google when you search for a keyword such “Webdesign Marbella”…
The trick is use always the keyword of the service offered + your location:
SERVICE + LOCATION
example: seo London, webdesign California, search engine Optimization Canada…

4- If you’re in USA never contract a service from an Indian company, China or whatever place is far from your zone. I’m sure there are plenty of professionals around your zone(google is your friend). Sometimes is better pay a bit more and know where you have to go to complain if necessary…

This article is not to only talk bad or good about hosting companies but show my experience and evidences agains the 2 hosting companies(Bodhost and Ultrahosting).

Bodhost.co.uk or bodhost.com VPS SCAMMERS!

2 Years with thid VPS company I found several problems such:
- downtime(from 10minutes to 12 hours many times from 2008/2009)
- allocate memory problem( the biggest issue with the server)

Bodhost VPS are all overloaded!! They sell VPS and don’t give you the resources you paid for!!
Spoke with all the support on chat:
- John Rodrick
- Scoth
- Sebastian
- Alan
- Alec
- Jeet N
- etc

All the conversations were about the same:
- Why my VPS is down?
- Why my server is out of memory if I have all services down?

They never, never admit that it was a problem of hardware. Always blaming us saying we had a bugged script overloading mysql or something like… How can you run a PHP script if apache is down? How can you overload mysql if the service is down??

They destroy your data!
Be carefull if you have files on their server. Backup all files every 12 hours… if you can….

Dead line
My history over with bodhost after I run apt-get update then the entire VPS crashed and didn’t start anymore. I’ve contacted them again on the chat to ask to bring back the server. My surprise was that they said the VPS was corrupted because I executed the command apt-get which I wasn’t allowed???!!!

Everybody knows that VPS share resources, but if we had a minimum of 500MB by contract why we still couldn’t get it if all our services weren’t running?

Result: all databases missing , webs and emails lost!!! Backups were corruped and VPS completly useless. My surprise was that when I access the SSH the initial problem with the apt-get was there!!!! So what was the point the keep our server down for 3 days instead of giving us a completely new one???

Ultrahosting.com server SCAMMERS!

After that no more discussing or time wasting and we moved to another provider Ultrahosting.com in Canada. Why we decided for that company? The only reason was that they had less complaining on forums on the net.

This time we decide to go for a dedicated server as our main problem was the memory on the VPS. Also that a 12 hours backup system would avoid this kind of problem to not lose any more data.

1 month latter: so far so good, no memory problems no down time.
2 months latter: server becomes unstable, SSH very slown, running top I could see that I had 1600Mb free of memory from my 2 Gb contracted. Websites going slown and all services including emails….

by contacting the support received the response:

After 18 hours which was suppose to be 5 minutes, surprise again!

Whenever I try to mount your original HD via /olddata, I get an error message saying the filesystem isn’t being recognized. This is unfortunately an indication that the HD is either dead or won’t be in a functional state that anything can be copied off it. I sincerely apologize for any inconveniences. I’ll understand if you’d cancel your server, however if you should decide to keep your server, I’ll place a request that we provide you an Enterprise certified HD. These are HDs provided by Dell which go through intensive testing in order to verify that they are suitable for their Dell poweredge servers. These aren’t typically the drives that we install in our dedicated servers, however we always keep a few of them in stock and I could make this happen for you.

Can you believe?!!! Again all my files destroyed!!!

At least this time I had recent backups and could go quick sign up for a new server with another provider and restore it from my backups.

A good suggestion for my experience with those scammer companies are:
- Never pay for 1 year in advance, pay monthly which gives you time to cancel and get another provider if you’re not happy
- do 12 hours backup rotate for all your files(web, databases, passwords, server settings and imap folders)

If you want to add your experience from another company please send me the information.
This article is to open your eyes and stop those companies scamming people and causing damage to their companies. If you have a server with any of the companies above I suggest you move to another provider as soon as possible…

This is a simple copy and paste guide for Debian, Ubuntu users to easy install Yahoo domain keys, working for pop and HTML emails with Sendmail installation. Just copy and paste the commands after #

Install DK Milter:

decompress:
# tar xvzf dk-milter-1.0.1.tar.gz
install libraries:
# apt-get install openldap-utils gcc
Compiling:
# cd dk-milter-1.0.1
# cp site.config.m4.dist devtools/Site/site.config.m4
# sh Build
# sh Build install

Generate public key:

# cd /root/.ssh/
# openssl genrsa -out rsa.private 768
# openssl rsa -in rsa.private -out rsa.public -pubout -outform PEM
Move your private key to the domainkeys directory:
# cd /var/db
# mkdir dkim
# mv /root/.ssh/rsa.public /var/db/dkim/default.key.pem

YOUR RSA PUBLIC KEY VALUE:
You can find your public RSA key value in /var/db/dkim/default.key.pem between:

without break lines and spaces.

configure sendmail:

copy the line below under LOCAL_DOMAIN on /etc/mail/sendmail.mc:

download the libs from the rar file and follow the instructions inside: http://www.it-design.es/libs/dk-filter.rar

start domain key-milter:

Note: To add a new domain you must kill the dk-filter process and run the above comand again:

Example:

Kill pid_number

restart sendmail:
# /etc/init.d/sendmail restart

In your domain provider control panel create the 3 following TXT records:

SPF record for Gmail:

DOMAIN KEYS:
